Three beautiful Christmas cards to be inspired by

Making your own Christmas cards is fun, and the only limit is your imagination. When we created our cards, we were inspired by nature around us and the season’s most beautiful flowers. What inspires you?

What you need for your Christmas card DIY

With a pair of scissors, some string, stylish paper in different colours, and a glue gun you’re well on your way. Next, head out into nature to see what inspires you. We found holly and some winter greenery from a bush. You could also stop by your local florist and see what catches your eye. We also used silver wire and white beads to add a little extra sparkle to our Christmas cards. Take a look through your drawers to see what treasures you might find to use on your cards.

Elegant paper amaryllis

Create a beautiful Christmas flower from craft paper and attach it to your card with a glue gun. We chose to make a red amaryllis, but you can pick any flower and color that you feel suits best. Perhaps the recipient of the card has a favorite flower? Make a simple paper flower like ours, or craft an entire bouquet to attach to your Christmas card.

Christmas tree made from garden greenery

The most iconic symbol of Christmas is the Christmas tree. That’s why we chose to create a mini tree using the winter greenery we found outside. Attach the branches with nice hemp string, then glue the tree onto your Christmas card. For extra sparkle, we made a small star from wire and wrapped it onto the top of the tree. Cute, isn’t it?

Decorate the Christmas card with holly

With its evergreen leaves and red berries, holly brightens up the winter darkness. In the past, holly was believed to bring luck and protect the home from evil spirits, making it a popular plant at Christmas. We chose to glue beautiful holly leaves onto our Christmas cards in the shape of a star. In the center, we attached holly’s lovely red berries along with shimmering white beads.

What should I write on the Christmas card?

It can be challenging to decide what to write on your Christmas cards. You want it to feel personal while also conveying the joy of the season. You might go with a simple "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" or try to add a touch of humor. Perhaps you’re writing to someone you won’t see this Christmas, or maybe you want to thank someone for a lovely festive gathering. Here, you'll find plenty of tips and inspiration for what to write on your Christmas cards this season.
